There have been multiple occurrences in ancient Chinese history where people from the Central Plains migrated southwards, bringing their music with them to the Lingnan region. This music blended with the local customs and culture, resulting in a vibrant and diverse musical lineage. In the mid-20th century, Hong Kong became a melting pot of immigrants from various regions, making it an open city rich in diverse historical and cultural memories. To this day, Hong Kong preserves numerous intangible cultural heritages. This project will focus on intangible heritage music, presenting community performances that showcase, transmit, and promote this invaluable aspect of Hong Kong's intangible cultural heritage list.
